Life Update

It’s been a while since my last post! As you know, I quit my nine-to-five to pursue a career in fitness and health. It was the biggest decision of my life and I couldn’t be happier or more excited for all that’s to come!

That said, I am now working in the service industry. Gotta make money right? 😉 But really, I love working in restaurants and bars. I worked in this industry full time for a couple of years after college. I enjoyed working as part of a team, giving great food, drinks and service. I currently work mostly night shifts with a couple of day shifts per week. Needless to say, my routine has changed very much. Actually, I’m still figuring out a new routine.

I’ve worked a nine-to-five and had the same routine for years; meal prep on the weekends, go to work Monday through Friday, go to the gym after work, eat dinner and get ready for the next day. It was a solid routine that worked at the time. With my work schedule fluctuating from week to week, I’ve been going to the gym in the afternoon four days per week. On days where I work doubles (lunch and dinner shifts), I skip the gym altogether and do a 30 minute workout at home.

So. What’s the plan for getting certified? The restaurant is brand new, so schedules will be packed for a few weeks. Once I’m on a normal schedule, I’ll create a solid routine and study for personal training certification and physical therapy. Who knows, I might train for another competition!

I’m very lucky to have found a workplace I enjoy while pursuing my dream career. I’m taking some time adjusting to the new lifestyle, but trust me when I say that I’ll stop at nothing in reaching my goals! In the weeks and months to come, I’ll be posting some fun content so stay tuned!
